Home Sweet Home

This past weekend we spent some time re-organising our lounge and conservatory. We wanted to get rid of a big black TV cabinet and two coffee tables, and use some of the pallets that are piling up in our back yard to create something a bit different. Lots still to do (curtains, paint, lighting) but for now we are loving the new look!

In the conservatory we have moved out all the clothes horses and piles of washing, and put in a spare single bed that we had out in the garage. I spent a lovely hour on Sunday afternoon napping on our new daybed.  We also utilised another wooden pallet as a magazine rack. Did you notice my obsession with Real Living magazine? There are plenty more around the house too - come and borrow some from me!

We are off to a camp this weekend with some of the youth we work with, busy times so I'll see you when I see you! A x

Little Paper Lane

This shop is by far my favourite shop in the world. Located in Mona Vale on the Northern Beaches of New South Wales...it is full of papery goodness, creative ideas and has super friendly owners! I was very excited to visit Little Paper Lane a few weeks ago when I was in Sydney, so I snapped a picture and then stocked up on washi tape and ribbon. Check out the shop and their blog here: Little Paper Lane x

Flower market goodness

At 5am this morning we ventured to the flower market in search of beautiful flowers for my Mama's 50th Birthday Tea Party. Despite it being far to early in the morning, I was in my happy place (my ultimate dream job would be to own a florist/paper shop all in one!). Enjoy these shots of super cheap and very pretty flowers. More Sydney adventures to come in the next few days...

Washi Tape

I hope you've already been introduced to the wonderful world of washi tape but in case you haven't, it is my absolute pleasure to do so! Washi tape is basically masking tape...except with colour, patterns and in different sizes. My collection is small but growing fast...

The best thing is that it can be easily applied and removed from a number of surfaces. Check out two of my projects using washi tape below:

Paper doilies + washi tape = an easy art display
Wooden pegs + washi tape = colourful wooden pegs
