Recycled pallet shelf

J cut the pallet for me and turned it into a nice little shelf. We grabbed a few test pots and gave it a go! Then a little bit of sanding and distressing and it was ready for the wall. We are stoked with it!

Painting with Meredith Grace

I tried watercolour for the first time a few weeks ago. My sister Meredith whipped up this amazing painting of some boots...

I started with a very simple watermelon and then played around with some patterns. I turned a few into cards the next day. I'd love to get hold of my own watercolour set someday and take a class or two. Here's to trying new things!

NYE Twenty Thirteen

We began a new holiday tradition this summer - a (very late and probably not that thanksgivingy) thanksgiving dinner together outside under the trees. We decided NYE was the best night for it for this year. Mum had quickly sewn a table runner and picked up some white muslin before leaving Sydney so all we needed was to add some wild flowers and some yummy food. Sisters three and four provided some rather hilarious entertainment as we went flower/weed picking down behind the bach, and then we set the table. My family are some of my best friends, and I loved hearing what they were thankful for in 2013. 

We had meringues and berries for dessert and finished the night by toasting marshmallows on the backyard fire.

Christmas wrapping

Christmas wrapping this year is brown paper and this beeeautiful green - I made these tags a few weeks ago  and then found some matching ribbon at Little Paper Lane. 

We are enjoying a nice long break from work at the moment, tripping around Sydney, Bali and soon Wellington, Christchurch and finally Taupo.

Thanks so much to all who have followed the blog over the last year - I kept my New Years resolution to start Oh Paper and keep it going for the whole year and am stoked to have had 15,000 page views.

Looking forward to lots of papery goodness in 2014, including the opening of my little online shop over on felt.co.nz!
